How to unlock a phone

Everything happens remotely using your IMEI number. Your phone is unlocked at the carrier end and nothing is installed on it.

No matter what network your phone is locked to

  • ATT

  • T-Mobile

    Including Metro and Mint.

  • Verizon

    Including Visible and Total Wireless.

We process your unlock remotely

  1. Enter your device details Dial *#06# on the device you want unlocked, or find it in Settings >> General >> About. We autodetect the model from it, so you do not need to know the exact variant.
  2. We get to work As soon as your order is placed, our system securely contacts the carrier and begins the unlock process. You can follow your progress live on our tracking page. Most unlocks complete within 15 minutes — complex cases may take up to 24 hours.
  3. We notify you when it is complete Keep using the phone normally until then. Nothing is installed and nothing changes on it yet.

The last step depends on your handset

  • iPhone

    Over the air

Simply connect your iPhone to Wi-Fi or cellular data, power off, then power on - the iPhone is instantly unlocked and ready for any sim.

  • Android phones

    Via Unlock Code

Power off, fit a SIM from your new network, power on. The phone asks for the unlocking codes — enter and the lock is gone for good.

Start with your IMEI

Enter your 15-digit IMEI. We identify your exact handset and the network it is locked to, and confirm we can unlock it before you pay anything.

Frequently asked questions

Everything below is about network unlocking — the restriction that stops a phone accepting another network's SIM.

How it works

How do I unlock a network locked phone?

Everything is done by IMEI, remotely. You give us the phone's 15-digit IMEI and the network it is locked to, and the lock is lifted against that record at the network or manufacturer's end. Nothing is installed on the handset and you never post it anywhere. Depending on the model you either do nothing at all, or enter one code we send you.

Do I need to send you my phone?

Never. The whole process is remote, so keep using the phone normally while it runs — calls, data and messages are not interrupted.

What information do I need to give you?

The 15-digit IMEI and an email address to send the result to. Dial *#06# on the phone to see the IMEI, or find it in the settings. We never need a password, an account number or a PIN.

How long does it take?

It depends on the network and the model rather than on us, so we show you an estimate for your exact combination before you pay. You can follow progress on the tracking page and we email you the moment it is done.

How do I find out which network my phone is locked to?

Put in a SIM from another network. If it is locked you will see a message like "SIM not supported" or "SIM network unlock PIN". If you are not certain, our IMEI check identifies the model and the network it is tied to before you order an unlock.

Your account, your contract and your carrier

Can you unlock it if I still owe money on the phone?

Yes. We never ask your network for permission, so an unpaid bill, an active instalment plan or an account in arrears does not stop us. What it does not do is clear the debt — you still owe what you owe, and your network can still pursue it.

I am still under contract. Can you still unlock it?

Yes. Being mid-contract is one of the conditions networks attach to their own unlocking, and it is not one that applies to us. Your contract itself is unaffected — the phone simply stops refusing other networks' SIMs.

Can you unlock a second-hand phone?

Yes, and you need nothing from the previous owner — no account access, no password and no permission. All we need is the IMEI. Do check that the phone has not been reported lost or stolen first, because that is a separate block and no unlock will lift it.

After the unlock

Is the unlock permanent?

Yes. The change is recorded against your IMEI at the network or manufacturer's end rather than on the handset, so a factory reset, a software update or a new SIM will not undo it.

Will eSIM work once the phone is unlocked?

Yes. With the network lock gone the phone accepts any carrier's eSIM profile exactly as it accepts a physical SIM, as long as the handset itself supports eSIM.

Is unlocking legal, and will it affect my warranty?

Unlocking a phone you own is legal. This is an IMEI unlock, not a jailbreak, a root or a custom ROM — nothing is flashed and nothing on the phone is modified, so the manufacturer's warranty is untouched and your photos, apps and messages stay exactly as they are.
